My late grandfather, a Lutheran pastor, contributed entries for two months’ of the Portals of Prayer devotional series in 1987 and 1990. Over 30 years later, my grandmother shared these with me and asked that they be designed into a flat-laying booklet to be given as gifts to family and friends. Each entry he wrote included reference to accompanying Biblical texts and concluded with a short prayer. In a true labor of love, I designed the book from cover to cover, including typesetting, illustration, and iconography.
